MyEPO Portfolio: taking the EPO’s digital user services to the next level

MyEPO Portfolio

Engaging and interacting with users is the cornerstone of building a more sustainable patent office. In our Strategic Plan 2023 we are working towards a digital transformation that delivers new online tools to better address user needs.

In June this year, a new online service ‒ MyEPO Portfolio ‒ was launched following a seven-month pilot phase involving some 180 users. It allows users to view their application portfolios and documents, receive their EPO Mailbox communications and perform procedural acts in response to communications from the EPO.

A second pilot phase started this month, during which the EPO will interact with pilot participants to trial and deliver major new features between now and June 2023.

These include electronic communications for international agents and non-European applicants in the international phase of the PCT, additional procedural actions and a first new B2B (business-to-business) technical API (application programming interface) so that users can automate exchange of data between their IP management systems and MyEPO Portfolio.

Alongside Online Filing 2.0 and Central Fee Payment, MyEPO Portfolio aspires to be the access point of choice for parties to work on their proceedings before the EPO.

It will replace the current Mailbox and MyFiles tools, which we expect to decommission in June 2024.

Why not check out MyEPO Portfolio? Our MyEPO Portfolio webpage explains how to get started and describes the features and benefits.

You can also volunteer to participate in the second pilot phase by responding to our call for pilot participants. We hold regular feedback exchange sessions with pilot participants.

Join us at the EPO User Day 2022 on 28 November to see a demo of MyEPO Portfolio and hear what our users have to say about it.
